Joshua Gunter is an award winning, cleveland-area photographer with 17 years experience in the area of photojournalism, portraits and sports photography.
Joshua Gunter, a native of Indiana, graduated from Ball State University in 2000 with a BS in photojournalism and graphic journalism. After completing an internship at The Plain Dealer in the summer of 2000, he was hired as a full-time staff photojournalist in 2002.
With the Plain Dealer, Gunter has had the opportunity to cover international stories including Hurricane Katrina, The 2006 winter olympics in Torino, Italy, Cleveland professional sports including the Browns, the Cavaliers' run to the NBA finals and Indians playoffs.
Josh has been a finalist for ONPA Photographer of the Year, has won Best of Show in ONPA's annual photo competition, and won numerous firsts in many categories for the state contests and regionally in NPPA.
Gunter's work has been featured internationally and nationally in publications including Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Editor and Publisher, Newsweek, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, The (Portland) Oregonian, The (Newark) Star Ledger, (New York) Newsday, and other newspapers.
He is also an Emmy-nominated videographer for his work on the documentary 'Savor,' which aired on WVIZ PBS in Cleveland.
Now 40, he lives in Avon Lake with his wife Heather and sons Reid, Luke, Evan and daughter Lily.
